The administration and faculty of
Kehilath Israel Religious School strive to:
-
convey and explore the facts of our
Jewish heritage, past and present, through traditional Jewish
interpretation.
-
engender a positive attitude towards
Judaism; its principles, laws and customs, and to act as role
models reflecting them.
-
provide an atmosphere which will
promote interest and inquiry and stimulate students to strengthen
their Jewish identity.
-
give students the opportunity to
participate in Jewish culture, religion, and socialization through
holiday celebrations, religious services and recreational
activities, utilizing song, drama, prayer, and interaction with
their peers.
-
encourage and activate students'
self-interest in continuing Jewish studies and lifestyles
throughout adolescence and adulthood.
-
familiarize students with the Jewish
community, its institutions and agencies and encourage
participation in their community activities.
-
assist and encourage students in
cultivating strong Jewish morals and values in order to enhance
thier lives and the lives of their families, both now and in the
future
Since Jewish traditions are an
important factor in the survival of the Jewish people, adherence to
those practices will be encouraged, explained and emphasized
throughout the students' years at religious school.
