We, the Caplan family, have been members of K.I. for many years. Since we had family at K.I. and had visited and found K.I. to be a comfortable place, we decided to join our family here. Namely they are: my mother and late father, aunts and uncles, and a cousin. My "better half" and I are both graduated from local high schools.
We had three terrific kids. One, very sadly, passed away over a year ago.
My service to K.I. began when the late Tom Magariel, of blessed memory, a past president and a gentleman I really respected, asked me to get involved as a vice president. The Magariel family has a history of service to the shul, and I have had the pleasure of serving with Tom’s son in years past. I have been active on various committees over the years including membership, dues, a young adult initiative, and assisting with the endowment committee. I have worked in each and every administration since Tom’s. In all the years since becoming active at K.I., I have had the pleasure of working with some extremely talented people, who all had the continued success of K.I. at heart.
A fabulous thing I have seen with each administration is the attention to continuous improvement, greater visibility of officer and board decisions, and the overwhelming desire to put K.I. into a position of strength for our long term viability. I look forward to continuing to work with our members and board to ensure the long-term viability of K.I.
